Avant Meats held the first-ever public taste test of cultivated meat in China, debuting a fish maw grown entirely from cells. The tasting was held at the Future Food Summit and tasters were excited by the identical taste of the product. The company will now continue to look to continue its research and development effort into scaling up and further applications for its marine protein platform.
Avant Meats is a company based in Hong Kong and that produces cell-based marine protein for applications in food & beauty. Lever VC led the pre-seed round for Avant Meats and has a seat on the company’s board of directors.
